Terms of Service
Last updated 2 November 2026
1. What Styx is
Styx is a marketplace where independent sellers list in-game items, accounts, currency and services, and buyers pay for them. Styx holds the buyer's payment in escrow and releases it to the seller according to these terms. Styx is not the seller of listed items and does not own or control the games they relate to.
2. Accounts
- You must be at least 18 years old, or the age of majority where you live.
- You are responsible for your account and everything done through it. Keep your login private.
- One person, one account. Creating extra accounts to avoid a ban, manipulate reviews or abuse promotions is not allowed.
- Styx may suspend or close accounts that break these terms or put other users at risk.
3. Game publisher rules
Many game publishers restrict or prohibit trading accounts, currency or services. You are responsible for understanding the rules of each game you trade in and for accepting the risk that a publisher may act against an account, item or currency. Styx does not guarantee that any item will remain usable.
4. Buying and escrow
- Payment is taken when you order and held in escrow.
- The seller has 24 hours to deliver. If they miss the deadline you can cancel for a full refund.
- After delivery you can release the escrow, report a problem or open a dispute. If you take no action, escrow is released to the seller automatically 24 hours after the order is marked delivered.
- Every order includes a 48-hour warranty. You can add an extended 30-day warranty at checkout for an extra fee. See the Refunds & Disputes page.
5. Selling
- Seller access is granted manually by Styx staff after an application. We may refuse or remove it at any time.
- Standard sellers have a 48-hour payout hold. Sellers who place a refundable bond and are approved as Trusted Sellers may receive faster payouts, up to the limits we set.
- Styx charges a 10% fee on each completed sale, deducted from the seller's payout. The optional warranty fee paid by the buyer is kept by Styx.
- You must own or be entitled to sell everything you list, describe it accurately, and deliver it as listed. Fake proof, recovering accounts after sale and taking trades off-platform are serious breaches and may lead to a ban and loss of funds held.
- Payouts are reviewed and processed manually by Styx staff, by bank transfer or PayPal.
6. Keep trades on Styx
Escrow and warranty protection only apply to trades completed on Styx. Do not share contact details to move a trade elsewhere. Order chat and direct messages may be filtered and reviewed by Styx staff to enforce these terms and resolve disputes.
7. Prohibited conduct
- Fraud, chargeback abuse, stolen payment methods or stolen accounts.
- Fake reviews, self-dealing, or manipulating ratings or referrals.
- Harassment, threats or hate speech.
- Malware, scraping, probing or attacking the service.
8. Payments, balance and chargebacks
Payments are processed by Stripe. Refunds are returned to your Styx balance unless we agree otherwise. If a payment is disputed or reversed with your card issuer, we may freeze related orders, reduce your balance by the disputed amount and suspend your account while we investigate.
9. Liability
Styx provides the service "as is". To the extent the law allows, Styx is not liable for losses caused by sellers, buyers, game publishers or events outside our control, and our total liability for any claim is limited to the fees we received for the order in question. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot be limited by law.
10. Changes and contact
We may update these terms. Continuing to use Styx after a change means you accept it. For questions, open a support ticket from your account.
