How escrow works

When you pay, the money is held by Styx, not paid to the seller. The seller has 24 hours to deliver. After delivery you can release the escrow yourself. If you do nothing, it is released to the seller automatically 24 hours after the order is marked delivered. You will get reminders before that happens.

When you get a refund

• Seller missed the 24-hour deadline: cancel the order from the order page for a full refund.
• Never received or fake proof: report it from the order page. This stops the auto-release timer and Styx staff review the order.
• Dispute ruled in your favour: you receive the full amount, including any warranty fee.
• Partial settlement: staff may split the amount between buyer and seller.

Refunds go to your Styx balance, which you can spend on any listing.

Warranty

• Every order has a 48-hour warranty after purchase. During it you can open a claim if, for example, an account is recovered by the seller or currency is taken back.
• You can add an extended 30-day warranty at checkout for $1.99. During the extended period, the seller's payout for that order is held until the warranty ends.
• The warranty does not cover bans or actions taken by the game publisher, or problems you caused yourself.

How disputes are decided

• Opening a dispute freezes that order's payout. Your other orders and the seller's other listings are not affected unless several buyers dispute at the same time.
• Styx staff review the order chat, delivery proof and any evidence you provide, then rule for the buyer, the seller, or a split.
• If the ruling goes to the seller, the buyer can request one final review. Other rulings are final.
• Disputes opened in bad faith, or repeated abuse of the dispute process, can lead to account action.

Card disputes

Please contact support before disputing a payment with your bank. If a payment is reversed with your card issuer, related orders are frozen and your balance may be reduced by the amount reversed while we investigate.
